I returned to AMAN Builders for 4 months as more senior Project Coordinator where I had the opportunity to continue my previous work with added responsibility and workload due to my previous experience.
I had the opportunity to work on two projects simultaneously, coordinating construction, problem-solving constructability issues, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, maintaining LEED® project documentation, and attending & running construction meetings.
As a Junior Project Coordinator at a major general contractor, I was working on $10M-50M commercial LEED® construction projects. My work included contract administration, maintaining lines of communication between all project members, and project record-keeping. As well, I had the opportunity to work on project proposals and assist in creating tender packages and bids for potential projects.
During my work term at the City of Edmonton’s Drainage Planning (and later Growth Coordination) I developed valuable team-working and problem-solving skills.
I was exposed to a variety of different municipal engineering challenges including macro-scale drainage network analysis, stormwater network simulations using EPA SWMM, aswell as field assessment of city “Low Impact Development” facilities.
